I built WhimNotes because I needed to keep short-term notes. I wanted something that could be shown/hidden with a hotkey and could be styled to my preference with themes. The result is a native Mac scratchpad that's only around 5 MB large. It launches instantly, stores your note as a plain markdown file locally, and has no cloud, no account, no AI training on the user's data and no subscription. The thing I'm most happy with is the combination of instant global hotkey access with lots of visual customization. Several themes, gradient title bars, custom colors, and adjustable opacity to make the app look how I want to. I also like and use the one-time reminders a lot. I hope you'll try and like the app too.
