Small streaming services usually have a website and mobile apps, but the living-room TV is missing because webOS and Tizen are their own little worlds: D-pad focus, Back key rules, media keys, packaging. Vela is the TV app I wish I could have started from.
You rebrand it in one config file and point it at one JSON catalogue feed. It already has remote-first navigation, adaptive HLS playback, a live TV guide, continue watching and picture-in-picture. The live demo on the site is the real app, so you can drive it with your keyboard arrows.
What it does not do: login, payments, DRM and video hosting stay with your service.
