I'm a 19 year old finance student and I'm exactly the person startup investing has always ignored. Young, no connections, no big money, but genuinely wanting to back companies I believe in. The wild part is the access already exists. Equity crowdfunding has been legal for everyday people since 2016, and platforms like Wefunder and Republic facilitate hundreds of millions in raises. But every one of them looks and feels like a Bloomberg terminal. They were built for people who already know what Reg CF is, not for the generation that grew up on Robinhood and TikTok. So the discovery problem became obvious to me. Nobody had built the consumer experience on top of the infrastructure. The companies raising money were impossible to find and browse in a way that felt natural. I built Vantage to fix that, a discovery app where you scroll short startup pitches and invest in the ones you believe in. As easy as scrolling your feed. I wanted to make startup investing feel like something my generation would actually want to do, not a chore reserved for the wealthy.
