Why I built Unfog ā and why every other app failed me first
Hey Product Hunt š
I'm Rafshan, a CS student. I built Unfog solo ā design, frontend, backend, everything.
Here's the honest reason it exists:
I have too many hobbies. Football, table tennis, guitar, writing, multiple side projects. I'm not unfocused ā I'm genuinely into all of it. But every productivity app I tried was built for someone with one goal and laser focus.
They also all had the same problem: my gym routine lived in one app, my tasks in another, my journal somewhere else, and my bad habits ā the stuff I was actively trying to stop ā tracked nowhere. Completely thriving on their own.
So I'd miss gym. Miss class. Start a habit, feel great for four days, forget it existed.
And every app I tried to fix this was so boring. White. Minimal. Clean. I'd open it, feel nothing, close it.
Unfog is what I actually needed:
ā 3 daily nudges (not 47 notifications)
ā Routines, todos with subtasks, journaling
ā A "shouldn't list" ā for habits you're trying to DROP, not build
ā No streaks. No shame mechanics.
ā Retro icons, because it should be fun to open
Live on Android now. iOS coming.
I'd love honest feedback ā what's missing, what's confusing, what would make you actually use this daily. Tell me everything. š
