UGC payment tracking: should an unknown receipt hide the balance?
I'm building UGC Deal Tracker for Excel. I'm looking for feedback on a reconciliation decision, especially from creators who track partial brand payments manually.
The attached screenshot uses fictional records, reviewed as of 4 Nov 2026. These figures are examples, not our revenue or customer evidence.
Four USD records with an agreed fee:
- $500 agreed, $500 received: $0 open.
- $300 agreed, $0 explicitly recorded as received: $300 open.
- $200 agreed, $75 received: $125 open.
- $100 agreed, receipt left blank: unknown.
The current workbook shows $575 recorded gross receipts, $425 known open balance and one unrecorded receipt. The missing $100 is flagged for review rather than silently counted as unpaid. Different currencies stay separate; no conversion is applied.
Alerts are inside the workbook. It has no bank sync, automatic email reminders or payment collection.
When a receipt is missing, which workflow would you trust more: a partial known balance with a visible unknown flag, or hiding the total until everything is reconciled? If you track installments, what information do you need for each payment?

Workbook context: US$9 once, Microsoft Excel for Windows required. Screenshots and full scope.
