Hey, I’m David. Trove actually started as PinPath, an app for putting places saved from social media and the web on a map. I loved that idea, but the scope started to feel too narrow. People save so many different things. My background is in hospitality, so of course I wanted something for cooking. I also work out a lot and have always saved workouts, but I hadn’t found an app that would take an Instagram workout and turn it into something I could actually follow and log. So I made sure that was a feature too. The more I saved things, the more I kept thinking: God, I wish there was more I could do with this data. That’s what Trove became. One library for saves from social media and the web, with little applets inside it that help you use them. PinPath is still there, alongside Forge for workouts, cooking tools and more. I want to build useful things around people’s saves without making them figure out every possible use case themselves. Trove started mobile-first, so I’d recommend trying it on your phone, but the web app has the full feature set too. Try sharing or pasting a link you’ve saved and let me know how it goes. What do you save most often, and what do you wish you could do with it afterwards?
