I built Thoughts because I wanted a simple place to write quick thoughts without turning them into a full document, a social post, or a cloud-synced database.

Most notes apps feel too heavy, too connected, or too distracting. Thoughts is intentionally focused: open it, write a thought, save it, search it later.

It is a local-first notes app with no account, no cloud sync, no ads, and no tracking. Your notes stay on your device.

The Android app now includes:

  1. Minimal Mode for blank-screen writing

  2. Quick micro-notes

  3. Hashtags and search

  4. Pinning

  5. Local-only storage

  6. App Lock

  7. Secure Recents protection

  8. Encrypted backups

  9. Export/import

  10. Appearance customization

  11. Custom app icons

  12. Offline support

  13. PWA + Android app

There is also a hidden God Mode for people who like discovering extra controls inside apps.

I’m building this as an indie maker, and I care a lot about clean UI, privacy, and small tools that actually feel good to use.

I’d love feedback on the UI, Android experience, onboarding, and what should come next: widgets, reminders, richer markdown, calendar-style review, or something else?

A small note about the Android version:

The Android app has more privacy and customization features than the PWA version.

Some Android-specific highlights:

  • Minimal Mode: a blank writing surface for instant thoughts

  • App Lock using Android device security

  • Secure Recents protection to hide private content from app previews

  • Encrypted backup export/import

  • Custom launcher icons

  • Accent colors and font controls

  • Reduce Motion and high contrast options

  • Dual / Decoy Mode

  • Emergency Wipe option

  • Hidden God Mode unlock

For testers: open Settings → Guides & About → About Thoughts, then tap the version number 7 times.

I added this because I wanted Thoughts to feel like a private personal writing tool, not just another basic notes app.
