Really enjoying Bug Mode – a fun way to practice coding and typing

I've been trying out Bug Mode in The Typing Matrix, and it's a surprisingly engaging way to practice.

Instead of just measuring typing speed, it combines coding with debugging by asking you to fix small code snippets under a time limit. It feels more like solving real programming problems than doing traditional typing exercises.

Some things I liked:

  • The countdown timer adds just enough pressure to keep it exciting.

  • The scoring, streak, and accuracy system make it motivating to improve.

  • Starting with simple challenges like fixing a missing return type makes it beginner-friendly while still being useful for experienced developers as a quick warm-up.

  • The clean interface keeps the focus on the code.
