Who's the last person you left on read, and why?

by•

I'll go first. A contractor quoted me for a job three weeks ago. I meant to reply. I still haven't. He never texted again, so the job went to whoever followed up first.

I've been thinking about this a lot while building Textually. We tell ourselves people ignore us because they aren't interested. Most of the time they're just busy, and nobody asked twice.

So two questions:

1. Who's the last person you left on read? A salesperson, a recruiter, a friend, your mom. No judgement.

2. What would have made you answer? A second message? A different time of day? Just a shorter text?

I'll read every reply. I suspect the answers say more about good follow-up than any sales book.
