Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Robin, co-founder of Tellers.

We spent two years building a video editing engine. Today, we’re giving it to your AI agent for free.

Tellers Player gives Claude Code and Codex a real video timeline that you can both edit. Describe what you want, watch the preview update as your agent works, and jump in to adjust things yourself.

You can combine real footage, motion graphics, animated titles, transitions, music, and effects. It also includes local AI tools for masking and tracking, so you can do things like place text behind a person or make a zoom follow a moving subject.

What we’ve focused on:

• Live feedback: preview and scrub through your edit with effects playing in real time.

• Shared control: let the agent handle the editing, then fine-tune the same timeline by hand.

• Local processing: preview and export on your machine, without uploading footage to Tellers.

• An accessible starting point: the player is free, with no Tellers account required. Your agent’s usual usage costs still apply.

This comes from the engine we use inside Tellers, where we work on everything from social clips to rough cuts for television. The skill and our timeline library are open source; the player itself is free to use but isn’t open source yet.

Why make it free? This is our way of offering a freemium version of what we’ve built. We’re not VC-funded, so we can’t sustainably give away AI credits in the Tellers app. Instead, we’re making our video player, renderer, and editor free to use with the AI agent you already have.

Our business is the broader Tellers platform: footage storage and indexing, collaboration, and access to generative models. Whenever you need more, you can connect your agent to Tellers through our MCP or edit directly in the Tellers app for the full experience.
