Hi Product Hunt!

I’m Tung, the developer behind Tabula.

I started building it for my own daily database work. I wanted a native macOS app that could replace TablePlus in my workflow, without usage limits or another account to manage.

Tabula supports PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, SQLite, and Redis, with:

• Multiple connections in one window.

• Data browsing, filtering, editing, and export.

• SQL autocomplete, formatting, and query history.

• Table relationship diagrams.

• Live server metrics.

• A Redis key browser, value editor, and command console.

The latest addition is optional AI assistance. Describe a query, change existing SQL, get inline suggestions, or ask for help fixing a failed statement. The model receives your schema context to work with actual table names, columns, and relationships.

You can download a model and run it offline directly inside Tabula—no separate runtime required. Or connect your existing setup, including Ollama, Apple Intelligence, Claude API, OpenAI-compatible APIs, Claude Code, or Codex.

AI is disabled by default and requires explicit permission for Production connections.

Tabula is free and open source under the MIT License. No Tabula account, no telemetry, and no usage limits. External AI providers may charge separately.

It runs on macOS 14 and later, on Apple silicon and Intel.

This started as a personal tool, and I’m sharing it with developers who might find it useful too.

What would Tabula need for you to use it as your daily database client?

I’d love your feedback, bug reports, and contributions.

ssh tunnel support for connecting to a remote postgres box would get me to switch, thats the one thing tableplus has that keeps me there
