Do you really want to sync everything?

Do you really want to sync everything?

This sounds like a simple question, but it becomes important when you're moving hundreds of GB between clouds.

A folder might contain:

project/

├── documents
├── images
├── videos
├── .tmp
├──
.log
├── cache
└── build artifacts

If you simply sync the entire folder, everything goes with it.

But maybe you only need the documents and images.

That's why Syncrix has File Filter Rules.

You can define patterns for each sync rule to include or exclude specific files.

For example:

Include: *.jpg

Exclude: *.tmp

Exclude: *.log

This is useful for scheduled backups, migrations and large cloud-to-cloud sync jobs where transferring unnecessary files wastes time and bandwidth.

The idea is:

Don't sync everything. Sync what matters.

I'm curious how other people handle this.

When you back up a large folder, what files do you usually not want to transfer?
