Hi Everyone! 👋 I built Speeedy because I love the RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) method, but I found myself jumping between different tools to get exactly what I needed. Some are great for speed, others have privacy, others have stats but I wanted a single place where it all lived together in a fast, native-feeling PWA. The Vision: I wanted to build a holistic reading environment where performance mechanics (like ORP alignment and Smart Pacing) work side-by-side with a personal profile that tracks your actual progress. It's not just about flashing words on a screen it's about the entire workflow from uploading a PDF to seeing your baseline WPM improve over a month. The Integration: By keeping everything local-first (using IndexedDB), I could build a system where your documents, your reading history, and your personalized settings live entirely in your browser. My focus was on combining features that are usually fragmented: Scientific Pacing: Modeling natural reading rhythm with punctuation dwells and 'Smart Speed' weights. Accessibility Suite: Full support for Irlen Overlays and OpenDyslexic built into the core reader. Progress Tracking: Streaks and word counts that help you actually stick to your goals. Privacy First: Zero trackers, no accounts, and total control over your data. Speeedy is my attempt to build the most complete, friction-free reading experience possible. I'm especially looking for your feedback on the 'Smart Speed' feel and the benchmarking tool!
