SideDog - AI side panel that summarizes pages, PDFs and videos

by•
SideDog lives in your browser's side panel. Summarize the page, PDF or video you're on, ask follow-ups, translate whole pages, or screenshot a chart and ask about it. Video summaries come with clickable timestamps. No copy-pasting, no tab switching. Free during beta.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built SideDog because I kept copying articles, PDFs and video transcripts into a chat window just to understand them. That back-and-forth is slow, and you lose the context of where you were reading. SideDog lives in your browser's side panel and reads what's on your screen when you ask: • Web pages – summaries, key data as a table, or a standalone HTML report • PDFs – ask questions and get answers that say which page a fact comes from • YouTube & Bilibili – it reads the captions, so you can ask what was said and jump to timestamps • Translate whole pages side by side with the original • Screenshot an area or pick an element and ask about charts and images • One-click actions that fit the page: a quick read of a paper, pros and cons on a product page, a reply draft in your inbox Privacy: the page is only sent when you ask or translate — nothing while you browse. Conversations stay in your browser. It's in free public beta: every new account gets a 7-day free trial with a daily limit. The interface works in 10 languages. I'd love your honest feedback — what's missing, what's confusing, what you'd use it for. I'll be here all day answering questions.
