Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I built Selvault Finance because I was frustrated with the state of personal finance tools:
- Cloud apps like YNAB and Monarch charge $99/year and store my financial data on their servers
- Mint shut down and left millions of users stranded
- Open-source alternatives like Firefly III use complex double-entry accounting
- Spreadsheets are... spreadsheets
I wanted something that:
1. Runs on MY hardware (Docker)
2. Looks premium (not 2005-era UI)
3. Goes beyond basic tracking (debts, loans, entities, calendars)
4. Costs a one-time payment (not another subscription)
After months of development and daily-driving it for my own finances, I'm finally releasing it publicly.
