Your product's output isn't shareable. How did you close that gap?

I'm the maker of MuseGen (AI music&music video generator), so take this as a build story, not neutral advice.

MuseGen started as one thing: you describe a song, it makes the song.

The first round of feedback wasn't really about the music. It was about what happened next. People would generate a track they liked and then ask the same question in different words: can I turn this into a music video without leaving?

A song on its own is hard to post anywhere that matters, so the song isn't actually the finish line. That's the small idea behind the MV feature.

What it took

About two weeks to ship, and most of that wasn't video. A video model on its own knows nothing about the song. It doesn't know where the second verse turns or which part is quiet. So the flow works more like a director would:

1. Analyze the song: lyrics, genre, mood

2. Write a story, split into scenes

3. Storyboard it shot by shot

4. Generate keyframes, animate them into clips

5. Assemble, with lyric subtitles synced to the vocal

That's a language model, an image model and a video model behind every MV. It works on a song made in the product or on a track you upload. If you want to see how it plays out, the MV generation page is here:

Why it isn't free

Music is cheap enough to let people try for free. This isn't. So we split the flow: you pay a small fee for the script first (about ten minutes), read the story, edit it, and only then confirm the render (about an hour). If a render fails, the credits come back. Nobody should pay for an hour of rendering on a story they'd have rejected in thirty seconds.

What I don't know yet

Whether people want to direct or just press a button. You can leave the description empty and let it decide everything, or edit every scene. It's still labelled beta for that reason.

If you ship something where the output isn't naturally shareable (audio, data, a file), how did you close the gap between "it works" and "there's something to post"?
