What would make you trust automation with your listings, stock and prices?
Hi everyone đź‘‹
I’m building Dropwhat, a workspace for resellers. We’re soft launching, and I’d like feedback from sellers and other makers on where automation should stop and human approval should begin.
Creating a draft description is one thing. Changing a live price or removing a listing affects someone’s business directly.
Three examples we’re working with:
Listing creation: AI prepares titles, descriptions and product details for the seller to review.
Automatic delisting: A confirmed sale triggers the removal of the item from other supported channels.
Price reductions: The seller chooses a percentage reduction for stock that remains unsold after 30 days.
My starting point is that sellers should understand what will happen, set the rules themselves and see a clear record of what changed.
If you sell across marketplaces, which of these would you let run automatically? Which would you want to approve each time?
If you’ve built similar tools, what controls or safeguards helped users feel comfortable trusting them?
I’d especially appreciate examples of automation that saved you time, or caused problems we should learn from.
For context, we launched Dropwhat on Product Hunt today: View Dropwhat.
That’s the product behind these questions. If you explore it, I’d appreciate feedback on whether the review steps and automation settings make it clear what remains under the seller’s control.
