🚀 The Story Behind AIPix.net — From Indie Developer to API Infrastructure Partner
A few years ago, I started my journey as a solo developer building AI-powered editing tools under the name Photokit. I didn’t have a team, funding, or a long-term roadmap — just curiosity, stubbornness, and a love for solving problems with code.
Photokit was free for almost everyone. That meant I had to become very good at one thing:
running high-performance AI on extremely low-cost servers.
I optimized every CPU cycle, pushed GPUs to 100% utilization, rewrote pipelines countless times… and somehow, users loved the result. Photokit slowly grew into a product trusted by creators all over the world.
Then something unexpected happened.
💬 “Do you have an API for this?”
Emails started coming in — from individual developers, startups, and even enterprises.
They didn’t just want a front-end tool.
They wanted the AI capabilities behind it.
That’s when I realized a gap in the market:
Companies need AI APIs that are:
high-quality
incredibly affordable
stable at scale
deployable flexibly — even on custom hardware or specific cloud regions
In other words, enterprise AI shouldn’t feel like buying a spaceship when you only need a car.
So I took everything I learned from Photokit — all the server optimizations, rewriting, and hardware squeezing — and built a brand-new infrastructure layer. I standardized the API formats, rewrote the backend, created documentation, and kept optimizing every piece of the system.
And that’s how AIPix.net was born — a simple home for demonstrating all the APIs I’ve built.
🧩 A Practical, Hybrid Business Model
Soon, a clear pattern formed among my customers:
For small-volume API users
They can directly subscribe through RapidAPI, pay per request, and start using the APIs instantly.
For enterprise-level high-volume users
I offer something unique:
Choose the exact features you need
Deploy dedicated servers (in any cloud, region, or even private network)
Pay a predictable monthly fee per machine
I handle everything —
procurement, deployment, maintenance, monitoring, API hosting, performance tuning, concurrency controls, and more.
This model sits somewhere between traditional SaaS and full-time hire —
companies get the quality and attention of an in-house engineer, without the cost or complexity.
Today, AIPix processes over 1,000,000+ requests every day, serving customers reliably across industries. And as an indie developer, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see my engineering work translate directly into real value for businesses.

🌱 Why I Built This
At its core, AIPix is built on a simple belief:
AI should be powerful, affordable, and accessible — not a luxury only big companies can afford.
What started as an indie project became an infrastructure service trusted by teams worldwide, and I’m excited to share it with the Product Hunt community.
If you're building anything that involves text, images, documents, or creative automation —
I hope AIPix can save you many late nights and many infrastructure headaches.
Thanks for reading my story ❤️
Let’s build more with less.
