SaveMyFare — Buy & sell unused UK train tickets below face value
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built SaveMyFare to solve a problem I kept running into - you buy an advance train ticket, plans change, and you're stuck with a non-refundable ticket worth nothing.
Here's the thing most people don't know: advance train tickets in the UK are transferable under National Rail Conditions of Travel. There's no rule saying the person who bought it has to be the one who travels. We built a verified marketplace around that.
How it works:
🎟️ Sellers list unused advance tickets below face value. We verify every listing before it goes live - checking the ticket is genuine, unused, and transferable.
🔍 Buyers find discounted tickets on routes they're already searching. Savings typically range from 20–50% off the original fare.
💸 Sellers get paid out 48 hours after travel. We take a 10% platform fee on completed sales.
Why now:
UK rail fares are at an all-time high. Advance tickets sell out fast and can't be refunded. Meanwhile millions of pounds of unused travel gets written off every year. We think that's fixable.
Would love feedback from the PH community - especially on trust, UX, and anything that would stop you from buying or selling a ticket.
