Launching soon on PH, some advice...

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to launch soon on PH. I would appreciate some help on how to plan that, what should my checklist look like.

I think most important questions are:

1. Should I get a hunter to launch for me or help our or do a self hunted launch? My app is a dev tool - email api for devs and agents.

2. I don't have a large audience yet ~200 users. Should I wait until I hae a larger audience. I have another project that is older that has ~2K users - should I launch that first? It's a differnet product - a P2P video CDN.

3. My research is pulled from all launches in October via API, and the AI analyzing what works best. It seems I have to change my copy and illustrations, layout. Is the recommendations sound?


This is my current checklist built with AI research:

- 1. Pick one wedge. Launch as “Receive email as a webhook. No mail server.”

- 2. Lock the date. Avoid 24–26 Nov (Thanksgiving week). Create the PH draft now.

- 3. Self-hunt with co-makers. Use your personal account and add 1–2 co-makers. Don't pay a hunter. If you borrow one, require 10–50K relevant followers and written confirmation they'll work the thread.

- 4. Pass the copy gate. Tagline: “Receive email as a webhook. No mail server.” (43 chars). Headline ≤8 words, subhead ≤28 with one constraint (“unlimited domains, free”). Score ≥8/10.

- 5. Build the proof. First gallery frame = a real email arriving and the parsed JSON webhook payload. Plus a 30–45s signup → domain → first email recording and a 240×240 thumbnail.

- 6. Staff the thread. Maker comment with the problem, three-step demo, one question. Line up 3 real users/design partners to comment in the first two hours. No fake accounts, no upvote asks.

- 7. Warm 50–100 people and rehearse. Email/DM at 12:01 AM and 8 AM PT. Rehearse signup → domain → first inbound webhook in under five minutes; check load, status page, support coverage.

- 8. Run and measure activation. Publish at 12:01 AM, two-hour comment sprint, share on X/LinkedIn/Discord. Track signups, verified domains, and first webhooks—not just upvotes. Follow up at 24–48h.
