I built an AI that catches hidden travel fees before you fly

Hey Product Hunt πŸ‘‹

I'm Mauro, a solo traveler and maker from Argentina. Over the years I got burned more than once by "surprise" costs on trips β€” a resort fee that wasn't in the booking, a rental car insurance that duplicated what I already had, a connection that was technically legal but impossible to make on foot.

So I built AuditorTravel: you upload your flight, hotel, car rental or cruise vouchers (PDF, screenshot, whatever you have) and an AI reads them and flags hidden fees, duplicate charges, and logistics mistakes β€” in seconds, without asking for any personal data.

It's launching on Product Hunt this Thursday (Aug 6), and I wanted to open this thread earlier to ask the community directly:

What's the worst "hidden fee" surprise you've had on a trip? Airline, hotel, car rental, cruise β€” all stories welcome. I'm genuinely collecting these to keep improving what the AI looks for.

Happy to answer anything about how it works, what it can and can't catch, or why I decided not to store any personal data at all.

Great idea, Mauro. One of the biggest surprises I've seen isn't just hidden feesβ€”it's mandatory .

Many travelers end up paying for coverage they don't actually need because it's already included through their credit card or existing auto insurance. Another common one is hotels adding "resort" or "destination" fees that aren't obvious during booking.

Having an AI automatically flag these before the trip could save people both money and frustration. Best of luck with the launch on Product Hunt!
