I built a Chrome extension to fix writing right where you type

by

Hey everyone,

I’m working on Write Better Assistant, an AI writing Chrome extension for people who write in the browser all day.

The idea is simple:

Select text, click an action, and the rewritten text replaces the original right where you type.

No sidebar.
No tab switch.
No copy-paste loop.

It can help with:

Fixing spelling and grammar
Making text sound more professional
Making replies friendlier
Turning notes into emails
Shortening long text
Expanding short text
Translating selected text
Turning rough ideas into better AI prompts
Changing text case
Copy, cut, paste, and local history

I built it because most AI writing tools are useful, but the workflow feels slow for small edits. If I only want to fix one sentence in Gmail, Slack, LinkedIn, Reddit, or a browser form, I do not want to open another tool just to paste it back later.

Write Better Assistant works in most standard browser text fields and keeps the fix in the same place where the writing problem appears.

A few honest notes:

It does not support Google Docs right now.
Selected text is sent only when you click an AI action.
Local History stays on your device.

I’m launching it on Product Hunt on June 16 and would love feedback from people who write a lot online.

What would you use most: grammar fix, tone rewrite, translation, email writing, or prompt making?
