How does Cognir actually compare to Roam and Obsidian?
Look, it’s not even the same category.
Roam and Obsidian graphs are mostly for that “wow I have so much knowledge” dopamine hit. You zoom out, see the giant hairy ball, and feel profound for 5 seconds. Then you close it. Because in reality, those graphs don’t do much.

Cognir is completely different.
The graph here is actually useful. You can navigate it, filter by insights, questions, tensions, concepts — whatever. Nodes are intelligently color-coded so you can actually make sense of things. It removes most of the over-organization bullshit. No more spending half your life manually linking notes and creating perfect folders.
Instead, the engine creates real connections for you — including new ones you wouldn’t have seen yourself. And because it’s intelligently built, the graph doesn’t turn into a disgusting microorganism when it grows (you know exactly what I’m talking about 😂).
Plus, the entire engine is open source. Everything. You can see exactly how your data is handled. No black box, nothing to hide. Steal the code if you want — it’s public property at this point.
That’s why I believe in this as the founder of the Cognian philosophy. It’s not another sham tool. It’s built for the right people — the ones who actually want to think deeper.
What do you think? Does this resonate or am I coping? 😅
