Building Cloud Converter: What makes a useful web utility actually useful?

by•

Hi Product Hunt community! 👋

I’m a student and the Founder & Developer of Cloud Converter, a project I’ve been building to create a simple collection of free online tools for everyday tasks.

The idea came from a pretty simple observation: there are thousands of small tasks people need to do online — converting units, calculating values, working with text, time, speed, temperature, volume, weight, and more — but many tools are cluttered with unnecessary features or complicated interfaces.

So I’m trying a different approach with Cloud Converter:

- Keep tools simple and focused

- Make them fast and easy to use

- Build a mobile-friendly experience

- Avoid unnecessary sign-ups

- Add useful tools based on what people actually need

It’s still an early project, so I’d really value feedback from people here who build or use web products.

What makes you decide that an online utility is worth bookmarking and coming back to?

And if you could add one tool to an all-in-one utility website, what would it be?

I’m especially interested in hearing what Product Hunt makers think I should improve or build next. 🚀
