The task is done. Why is the password still in the chat?

by•

A teammate needs an API key. A client needs a password.

You send it, they get what they need, and everyone moves on. But the secret stays behind in a chat thread or inbox.

I’m Mihai, the solo founder behind Secretus. I built it to make those handoffs more deliberate: browser-side encryption, one-time links for asynchronous sharing, and live browser-to-browser transfers when both people are online.

There’s also Team Split, for situations where reconstructing a secret should require more than one person.

No tool can stop someone copying a secret after receiving it. But leaving credentials scattered across conversations shouldn’t have to be the default.

Secretus launches here on November 10.

How do you share sensitive information with clients or teammates today—and what would you change about that process?
