We’re thrilled to introduce Seafile 13, the latest version of our open-source file management and collaboration platform.
Since 2012, we’ve been dedicated to providing teams with a secure, reliable, and fast file sync & share solution. While people work with files and documents every day, the way they do so have remained largely unchanged for over a decade. With advancements in technology and AI, we want to offer people a fresh approach to organizing their files.
Seafile 13 introduces several innovative features designed to help you organize your files more efficiently.
• Extensible File Properties: Design and assign custom properties to files - like owner, status, and due date. Various types of properties can be created, including text, collaborator, date, single-select options.
• Flexible File Views: Create table, gallery, kanban, map, and statistics views based on file properties. Filter, sort, and group your files within these views. Think of it as organizing your files with the power of a database. With the help of these views, you can organize your files more clearly and quickly locate the files you need.
• Multi-level File Tagging: Establish and organize tags in parent-child relationships for structured categorization. Tagging is a fundamental feature in file management solutions, and we take it a step further by allowing you to create tag hierarchies!
• Organize your files with AI: Seafile AI assists you in extracting file details, creating summaries, and generating tags for files. The extracted information can be saved as file properties or tags.
In addition to smart file organization, Seafile also features handy add-ons, including an AI-powered, Notion-like doc editor, an integrated whiteboard, and knowledge bases. These tools help you create documents in a smarter way.
We've been utilizing these new features in our internal processes, including project file management, contract management, organizing photos and video files, and more. We look forward to seeing additional creative use cases from the community.
