Hi Product Hunt! I built Rootstep because every move I made fell apart into a hundred tabs: notice on the lease, a passport that runs out too soon, the movers, the deposit, who still needs the new address.

You tell it where from, where to, when and who's coming, and it builds one plan with every step dated from moving day. Today shows this week; widgets, the Lock Screen and Apple Watch show the next step, and you mark it done from there.

New this week in 1.3:

- Appointments in one list, with the time, the place, the reference and the documents not ready yet

- "Will it fit?": box sizes, the big items and the doors, measured with the camera if you like

- The handover: rooms, meters and keys with dated photos, and a report you sign together

- Your stay after arrival: renewals, residence days for each person, and a timeline towards a goal

- Official deadlines one card at a time, with the official page beside the card on iPad

Official steps link the official page. You read the rule there and set the deadline, so the app never claims a rule it hasn't seen. Your plan stays on your devices and in your own iCloud, and we never pass your details to movers.

Free to try with everything for 9 days, then one payment (the Move Pass, not a subscription), with a launch price until 31 December 2026. What did your last move need that a plan like this misses?

One more thing: Rootstep comes out in German, Japanese, French, Spanish and Korean at the end of November. If one of them is your first language and you'd read it in the app for about two hours between 16 and 22 November, write to with the subject "Rootstep tester". The full version is yours free.
