Roost - Save, search & restore your tabs — $5 once, 100% local

A tab manager that's $5 once and 100% local — no account, no subscription — because a tab manager shouldn't be a rental that uploads your tabs.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm the solo developer behind Roost. I built it after one too many nights with 180 tabs open, terrified to close any of them. Roost saves every open tab as a named session in one click, restores the whole window later, de-dupes, and suspends inactive tabs to free up estimated RAM. Everything is stored locally — the only network call it makes is to verify a Pro license key. Pro is $5 once, no subscription, because a tab manager shouldn't be a rental. The free tier is genuinely usable forever. I'd love your honest feedback — especially: what would make you switch from whatever you use now?

Loved that it just sits on my Mac and actually works without begging me to sign in. Grouped my 40+ chaos tabs in two clicks, no nags.

how does it actually handle tab sync across devices if everything stays local?

Does the $5 include future updates, or is it a one-time purchase for the current version only?

the one-time purchase with no account setup is such a refreshing take, and the local-only approach actually means my tab mess stays private. love that the design feels thoughtful instead of trying to upsell me on every feature.
