Room Scribe - Launch Day! - Simple, state-of-the-art transcripts without subscriptions

by
1. State-of-the-art transcriptions without a subscription, and sold almost at the same price it costs me 2. Not a SaaS trying to sell you on a ton of extra features you don't need. Record the room, then get a timestamped transcript with speaker labels. It is designed to be simple and cheap to use. You export it as Markdown and use it wherever you already work. No bot. No workspace. No subscription. Transcript hours are pay-as-you-go: $0.99 for one hour, $7.99 for 20 hours, or $29.99 for 100.

I started building software when I was 12 and have been doing that for 27 years (yes, I'm old...) My phase of building side projects is long one, and I still build this one. Why? Some time ago I ran an in-person workshop with my team at work and I was surprised and frustrated that the only way to record and transcribe it with good quality was via overpriced subscription apps or, worse, using dedicated hardware (that still require a subscription!) I am tired of SaaS companies making simple and cheap use cases more complicated on purpose so they can charge yet another subscription. I thought that's dumb so I built Room Scribe: A simple app where you open it, tap a button, record the room, then get a timestamped transcript with speaker labels. Nothing else. You export it as Markdown and use it wherever you already work. No bot. No workspace. If you're curious, it uses AssemblyAI under the hood. I chose it because this transcription model ranks among the very best at a very competitive price. It supports 99 languages, diarization, seamless language change, etc.
