Rimote - Control your Macbook from your iPhone.
by•
Rimote turns your iPhone into a beautiful, dead simple remote for your MacBook. Skip Netflix intros, resume sports streams, accept AI agent plans and run slides from across the room with one tap. Instead of complex SSH, Termius and Tailscale setups, Rimote gives you a clean, free, everyday way to control sleep, mute, volume and media without leaving the couch or your workspace.

I built Rimote because using my Mac from across the room was way more annoying than it should be.
I already had an elaborate setup: using Termius over Tailscale to SSH into my laptop to check on my coding agents progress and control my laptop but that’s an elaborate setup most people will never touch.
It started with small frictions: skipping Netflix intros when my TV was plugged into my laptop, resuming sports streams during the World Cup, and tweaking volume or media without getting up. Then it spread into my work e.g accepting my AI agent’s plan in Claude Code, or changing slides while presenting away from my laptop.
I realized I just needed a dead-simple remote for the actions I use every day.
That’s why I built Rimote. A simple and clean way to control sleep, mute, volume, and media on your Mac from your iPhone, so those tiny annoyances disappear.
Love how simple this looks for just pausing Netflix from the couch. One thing that would make it stick for me: an Apple Watch companion app so I can control the Mac without even pulling out the phone.
@enverk69281 That sounds like a great idea! I'll add it to the roadmap!
Slept on this for too long, wish I had it during all those frozen Netflix intros. Setup was genuinely painless and the media controls feel snappy on my MacBook from across the room.
@glzararkanzqio Thank you for trying it and for the praise!!
