Launching RiiS for the first time — I’d love your honest feedback

Hi everyone, I’m Marina, the founder of RiiS.

RiiS is launching here on September 15—my first Product Hunt launch!

The idea came from a real problem. During the devastating floods in Valencia, Spain, I saw how difficult it was to understand what was really happening and what information on social media could be trusted. With AI making photos and videos easier to fake, that only gets harder. That’s what pushed me to build RiiS.

RiiS is a citizen journalism app for discovering first-hand photos and videos shared by people on the ground. When content is captured directly in the app, its location, date and time are recorded. The community can add supporting evidence, follow stories as they develop, and vote Reliable or Unreliable to help others assess each report.

RiiS is still in beta. Please try it on the App Store or Google Play and tell me what you think:
