ReStart - Help the homeless

We are proud to launch Restart, an innovative app that connects people experiencing homelessness with real-time updates from charities offering food, shelter, hygiene facilities, and more. Every day, individuals facing homelessness struggle to find available services, often wandering from place to place with limited information. At the same time, charities are overwhelmed with demand, relying on phone calls and manual processes to manage service availability. Restart was created to solve this. Restart is a two-sided platform. For charities, it offers a live dashboard where staff can quickly update the availability of key services. This reduces administrative overload, phone inquiries, and front-desk congestion. During peak times, charities can even send alerts to registered volunteers for immediate help. For homeless users, the app provides live access to support nearby, showing available beds, meals, public bathrooms, and more. Features like offline maps and emergency notifications make it accessible and reliable. For donors, Restart offers greater transparency by reducing charity admin costs and redirecting more funds to frontline impact. As transparency grows, so does trust, encouraging sustained giving. With nearly 95% of people experiencing homelessness owning mobile phones and accessing free Wi-Fi, a mobile-first solution like Restart is not only possible but powerful. Our pilot begins in South Australia, in partnership with trusted organisations like Hutt St Centre, Vinnies SA, and local councils. From there, we aim to expand across the nation, supporting hundreds of service providers and thousands of lives. Restart isn’t just an app, it’s a smarter way to deliver hope.
