Hi Product Hunt, I'm Abbas, a solo developer in India, and this is Purrse. The story is short. UPI made my spending invisible. Tap, done, no note in my hand, no cash leaving my wallet. By month end I knew my salary was gone but not where. I tried the apps that read your SMS or link your bank, and two things kept bothering me: they wanted permission to read every message I get, and the sync broke often enough that I stopped trusting the numbers. So Purrse is manual on purpose, and it tries to make manual take about two taps. There is no bank linking, no SMS reading and no ads. It works offline and syncs when you are back online. The cats are the design idea. Every kind of money gets its own cat: - Coco: cash - Vault: bank accounts (with UPI ID) - Swipe: credit cards (limit, bill and due date; she gets nervous) - Pixel: digital wallets - Mitten & Paws: money you lent or borrowed, so "Rohan owes me 800" stops living in your head You also get monthly budgets per category with a cat warning at 80% and 100%, net worth, transfers that don't count as spending, multi-currency with live FX, a daily nudge, a home-screen widget, and CSV/PDF export any time. What it does NOT do, so you don't find out the hard way: - It does not import anything automatically. You type it in. If you want auto-import, this is the wrong app. - Android only today. iPhone is planned, not built. There is an iOS waitlist on purrse.in. - It is not an investment or tax tracker. - It is new. Expect rough edges, and I read every bit of feedback myself. - It is not free: there is a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan, then Rs 1,499 a year in India (or Rs 199 a month). Every plan has every feature, and there are no ads. Lifetime is also available as a one-time purchase. On privacy, precisely: no ads, and no advertising or behaviour-tracking SDKs. Crash reports go to Sentry and payments go through RevenueCat, and that is all. You can delete your account inside the app. I would love feedback on three things: Is two taps actually two taps for you? Which cat would you remove? What would make you stop logging in week 3? Tell me what is annoying and I will fix it. Thank you for taking a look.
