Why do most AI ebook tools still leave you fixing the PDF in Canva?

by•

Hi everyone, Felipe here, maker of Product Idea Kit.

I tried a lot of AI ebook tools before building this, and kept hitting the same two problems:

1. The PDF looks generic. Plain text on a basic template, then hours in Canva fixing fonts, covers and layout before it looks like something you'd sell.

2. The idea is generic too. Most tools will write an ebook on any topic you type. None of them tell you whether people are searching for it, or how to position it against what already exists.

So Product Idea Kit works in a different order:

→ It finds 5 ideas ranked by real Google search volume, then checks the one you pick for demand, category, outcome and trust, and rewrites the idea around its weakest point.

→ Then it gives you one detailed prompt for that validated idea. You paste it into Claude, and Claude writes and designs the whole PDF.

Here's a real example from the "new puppy" search (images below): a 34-page guide with a contents page, chapter layouts, a teething timeline chart, a 14-day checklist, a printable bite log, recipe cards and a troubleshooting table. No Canva. The prompt leaves a spot for your own cover image, and I made mine with Nano Banana in a couple of minutes and Claude adds it behind the text created in the perfect order.

As you can see the quality is high and everything is created with the magic prompts created within Product Idea Kit that you can use in Claude to generate these types of amazing looking PDFs without ever going to another tool to customize them.

The full search behind it is here: on how Product Idea Kit generated and scored this specific topic for this keyword ("new puppy") and niche ("Pets").

Curious how you handle this:

- How much time do you spend designing an ebook after it's written?

- Do you validate the topic first, or write first and look for buyers after?
