How to set up Plot Only in under a minute (+ tips)

I hate long shows. Too much filler, too much small talk. But I still want the story.

So I built Plot Only, an agent that watches Netflix with you and skips everything that isn’t plot: recaps, title sequences, small talk, side plots.

Thanks for checking out Plot Only! Here’s everything you need to get going.

Setup

1. Click Add to Chrome on the Chrome Web Store page. No account needed.

2. (Optional) Click the puzzle icon in Chrome’s toolbar and pin Plot Only, so the on/off switch is one click away.

3. Open Netflix in Chrome and play any episode or film.

What you’ll see

• A small “Plot only” badge at the top right of the player.

• The first time anyone watches a title, it takes about a minute to read it. After that it’s instant for everyone.

• The badge then shows your cut, e.g. “49m → 40m”, and filler is skipped automatically, with a short note telling you what was skipped.

Tips

• Click the badge to see every scene: what’s kept, what’s skipped and why.

• Changed your mind? Click any skipped scene, or just scrub back, and it plays. Plot Only won’t fight you.

• Turn it off for a show with the switch on the badge or in the extension popup.

• For series, it reads the whole season first, so plots/setups that pay off in later episodes aren’t cut.

Works on: desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers. Netflix only for now. TV and phone apps aren’t supported.
