PDFtada is a free PDF toolkit that runs 100% in your browser. Merge, compress to an exact KB, edit, sign, OCR, convert and unlock PDFs – 45+ tools with no uploads, no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits. Built phone-first.
The problem: every "free" PDF site works the same way – you upload your file to their server, wait, then hit a watermark, a 2-files-a-day limit or a sign-up wall. That's annoying for a résumé. It's genuinely risky when the file is your passport, bank statement or ID card, which is exactly what people upload most.
What PDFtada does differently: there is no server. The whole site is static files, and every tool – merge, compress, OCR, Word ↔ PDF, sign, redact, unlock – runs inside your browser using pdf.js, pdf-lib and WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device. Don't take my word for it: open DevTools → Network while using any tool and you'll see no upload.
🔁 Conversions – Word, Excel, images, Markdown and EPUB both ways, plus PDF → PowerPoint, PDF → text, HTML → PDF, even PDF → audio
🎯 Compress to an exact size – "under 100 KB" for a form? Pick the target and it finds the best quality that fits
📱 Phone-first – designed for filling forms on a phone, not just desktop
🆓 No sign-up, no watermark, no daily limits – because there's no server cost to recover
🎉 And every finished file gets a little "Ta-da!" (hence the name)
Why phone-first? I built it in India, where most people fill government and job forms on their phones. Those forms want things like "PDF under 200 KB", "signature 10–20 KB" or "Aadhaar without the password", so PDFtada has ready-made pages for those exact jobs too.
I'd love your help with:
1. Try the tool you use most and tell me if anything breaks
2. What PDF task still makes you go to a desktop app?
I'll be here all day answering every comment. Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
