Pawse - Anime desktop pet that celebrates when Claude Code is done

by•
Pawse puts a small anime pet on your desktop. It follows your cursor, taps along as you type, and celebrates the moment Claude Code, Codex or Cursor finishes a task. New since our first launch: 8 anime-style pets (up from 4 pixel-art ones), guided stretch breaks your pet does with you, a Pomodoro timer, custom reminders, and 38 collectible hats from gift boxes you earn by working. Free for macOS and Windows. Runs locally, no telemetry, no ads.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Utkarsh, the solo dev behind Pawse. I launched a tiny pixel-art version here in June. Since then I've used it every day while Claude Code runs long tasks, and it grew into something much bigger. The problem: I'd kick off an agent, switch to another tab, and forget to check back for 20 minutes. Notifications got dismissed without reading. A pet in the corner of the screen turned out to be the one thing I actually notice. It cheers while the agent works and throws a little party the second it's done. What's new in this launch: 🐾 8 anime-style pets, fully redrawn: cat, dog, panda, hamster, Shiba Inu, kitsune, bunny and red panda 🤖 Claude Code and Codex are detected automatically from their local session files (no API key, no setup). Cursor is one switch, and any other tool can call a small hook script 🧘 Stretch breaks every 30 to 90 minutes with a one minute guided routine, and your pet stretches with you 🍅 A Pomodoro timer whose countdown sits right under your pet ⏰ Your own reminders (water, posture, meds) with snooze and a quiet mode 🎩 Paws, levels, gift boxes and 38 collectible hats, earned by finishing tasks, stretches and focus sessions Still 100% free, no ads, no account. Everything runs locally, and it only counts keystrokes to animate your pet. It never records what you type. Works on macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows. I'd love to know: which pet did you pick, and what should your pet react to next? 🐱
