PartSense - Inventory and BOM management for electronics labs.
by•
Stop managing your lab in spreadsheets. PartSense gives you a live, searchable catalog of every resistor, IC, and connector in your lab. Automatic datasheet fetching and smart order lists that keep your builds moving, not stalled.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Loïc, the creator of PartSense.
What inspired me to build this?
I built PartSense because I was completely tired of the "Weekend Project Killer." Every hardware engineer or maker knows the exact feeling: you spend 30 minutes digging through plastic drawers looking for a 10µF capacitor you know you bought last month, only to realize you actually ran out. Your project is stalled, your momentum is dead, and your current "inventory system" is a fragile Excel file with cryptic abbreviations that hasn't been updated in six months.
I needed something smarter than a spreadsheet, but much faster and less clunky than an enterprise ERP.
How my approach evolved:
When I first started writing the code, my goal was just to make a simple digital list of my physical bins. But as I dogfooded the app in my own lab, the scope evolved from a "dumb tracker" into an "engineering assistant."
I realized that engineers design with generic requirements but build with specific parts. So, I built a "Meta-Parts" system to bridge the gap between design intent and physical reality. I also integrated live distributor APIs (Mouser, DigiKey, TME) so that when you generate a BOM, our "Smart Order List" does the math for you—deducting the stock you already have and only telling you to buy exactly what you are missing. Finally, to kill the friction of switching tools, I built a 1-click import feature so you can bring over your legacy CSVs (or PartsBox data) instantly.
I built this to solve my own drawer chaos, and I’m incredibly excited to finally share it with you all today.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, answer any technical questions about the stack, or hear about how you are currently surviving your own lab inventory! Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
