Orbit - Dock previews, volume mixer & window switcher for Mac

by•
Rest the pointer on any app in the Dock and Orbit shows its windows — and for a browser, its tabs too. Click one to go straight to it. It's the newest of five tools Orbit puts behind a single menu bar icon: a per-app volume mixer (boost to 2x, route each app to its own output device), a window switcher in three styles, unlimited clipboard history with per-item expiry, screen capture with a full annotation editor, and a system monitor. Native Swift, no accounts, no telemetry. macOS 14.4+.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Facu, the maker of Orbit. Orbit started because I was running three small Mac apps I'd written for myself — a clipboard manager, a window switcher and a screen capture tool — each with its own menu bar icon, its own settings and its own update cycle. I merged them into one app and added the two things I kept missing: a per-app volume mixer (Spotify at 40%, the call at 100%, each app on its own output device) and a system monitor that tells you which process is actually eating the battery. The newest piece is Dock previews: rest the pointer on any app in the Dock and you see its windows, with a browser's tabs listed too, most recently used first. Click one and you're there — and Cmd-Tab knows what you picked. It's the feature I use most and the one I didn't know I wanted until it existed. Native Swift, no accounts, no telemetry, nothing leaves your Mac. Capture and clipboard are free forever; mixer, switcher, Dock previews and monitor are Pro with a 14-day trial, $9.99/year for the first 50 licenses. Would love to hear what you think — especially which app you'd want Dock previews to handle better.
