I built Octavia because I was tired of paying for multiple AI subscriptions. I use AI constantly across very different kinds of work: legal research and drafting, coding, troubleshooting electronics, and solving practical problems in the field. I found that different AI systems were better at different tasks, so I ended up maintaining several subscriptions and constantly deciding which one to use. What struck me as odd was that many of these providers offered pay-as-you-go API access, while their consumer products still required separate monthly subscriptions. That felt like a gap worth solving. Octavia is my attempt to create a better way: one interface that can break down a request, use the right intelligence for different parts of the work, audit the result, and combine everything into a single answer. Users do not need to know which system is best for which task, and they do not need another subscription. You simply load your wallet, see the estimated price before sending, and pay only when you use it. The first 10 prompts are free. This started as something I wanted for myself. I’m launching it now to see whether other heavy AI users have felt the same frustration. I’d genuinely value feedback on the product, the pricing model, and the quality of the answers.

Love the pay-as-you-go model and being able to see the price upfront, that is huge. One thing that would really help me is a way to save and reuse my custom task breakdowns as templates, so I do not have to re-explain the same complex workflows every time I come back.

Thank you — reusable task-breakdown templates make a lot of sense, especially for complex workflows you return to regularly. The domain was literally registered on 9 July, just six days ago, so Octavia is still extremely young. We’ve already iterated significantly in that time and shipped a lot more than the first version had. We’ll keep improving it quickly, and saved workflow templates are exactly the kind of feature we hope to add as we learn how people use it.

Love the pay-as-you-go model and the upfront price estimate, that alone makes me trust it more than most tools. One thing that would really help me adopt it though is letting me save a custom routing setup, like which AI I want for coding tasks versus research, so I don't have to reconfigure preferences every session.

Thank you — I’m glad the pay-as-you-go model and upfront pricing are useful. Octavia’s domain was only registered on 9 July, six days ago, so this is very much the beginning. We’ve already iterated substantially and added persistent account instructions, among other features. Named setups for coding, research and other workflows are a very logical next step. We won’t get to everything immediately, but we’re building quickly and will keep adding the features that make repeated use easier.
