Netfox 0.3.3 — sharper security insights + a more reliable scan
Hey everyone 👋
Just shipped Netfox 0.3.3. No new features this round — a focused polish pass on accuracy, privacy, and reliability based on real usage. What's better:
🔒 Security that tells you what actually matters
- The Security view now clearly separates devices that expose a service from the ones genuinely at risk. A device serving plain HTTP but also offering HTTPS is no longer lumped in with the insecure ones — each service shows exactly how many of its devices carry a real finding.
- Plaintext admin pages on alternate web ports (the kind routers and IoT hubs love to use) are now flagged when there's no secure alternative.
🕶️ Privacy in Demo Mode
- Sharing your screen or a screenshot? Demo Mode now masks device names in the full history view too, so nothing real leaks.
⚡ Smoother & more reliable
- Scans no longer get stuck on slow or unresponsive devices.
- Large networks stay snappy, and history is tidied up automatically.
✅ One important fix: everyone on macOS 15.6 and later now correctly receives updates — if Netfox wasn't offering you the latest version, this sorts it.
Update via Netfox → Check for Updates. As always, I'd love to hear what you'd like to see next 🦊
