Travelers: what would you ask a historian walking next to you?
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Quim, the solo developer behind Narrativ.
For a few years I walked Europe's old towns from a camper van, and I kept running into the same moment: standing in a square, wondering why it's called that, or what happened in that building 400 years ago, with nobody around to ask.
So I built Aura: an AI historian you talk to by voice through your earbuds while you walk. You pick the angle of history you care about (dark history, architecture, legends, football) and you can ask follow-up questions out loud, right where it happened.
Here's a 30-second look at how it works in a real street:
We launch here on Thursday, and before that I'd love to learn from people who travel:
1. What was your last "I wonder what happened here" moment in a city?
2. Do you prefer a planned route, or wandering and asking as you go?
3. Which city should we polish first?
Honest answers are very welcome, including "I'd never use this, because...". I'm reading and replying to every comment.
