14 hours in — what happened on launch day

We launched Mycel this morning, and I’ve basically been staring at dashboards ever since instead of sleeping.

A few things happened today that I’m still processing.

First: it held.

94,317 requests today, peaking at 10,756 in a single hour. That’s roughly 50x our normal traffic.

We had 9 server errors across all of that.

After a night of deploying, seeing “the infrastructure was boring” this morning was honestly the best thing I could have asked for.

But this was the moment I’ll remember.

At 15:36, someone I’ve never spoken to signed up.

By 16:27, 51 minutes later, Mycel had:

→ read their business from a short paragraph
→ figured out what kind of business it was
→ set up 6 recurring schedules
→ opened an engagement
→ ran a job
→ produced a finished deliverable
→ left it waiting for their approval

No templates. No setup call. No help from us.

Someone I didn’t know had gone from “I just signed up” to having actual client work running in less than an hour.

That was the first time I saw Mycel do the thing we’ve been building toward for months for someone who wasn’t me.

That felt pretty special.

We also shipped 4 times today.

Real users immediately found things we somehow managed to miss internally.

The biggest one: we were producing finished work and then... quietly leaving it there.

So now Mycel emails you the moment your first piece of work is ready, links directly to the document, and tells you exactly what job it came from.

We also fixed the cookie banner taking over the bottom of the first screen after signup, cleaned up parts of the signup flow, and pushed a bunch of smaller things.

Nothing glamorous. Just fixing what people actually run into.

And honestly, that’s probably my favorite part of launch day.
