I built MiniPx because I got paranoid about image unloaders
I was compressing passport photos for a visa application last year. Halfway through, I stopped and thought — where are these actually going?
Checked the privacy policy of the tool I was using. Buried in paragraph 14: "uploaded files may be stored for up to 24 hours for processing purposes." My passport photos sitting on someone's server. Cool.
That bugged me enough to start building something. MiniPx runs entirely in your browser - Canvas API handles the compression, your files never hit a server. There's no upload step at all.
It started as a weekend project and kind of snowballed. 83 tools now, still free, no signup.
I honestly didn't expect it to get this far.
I'm curious though - do other people actually check where their files go before using online tools? Or is it just me being weird about it?
