We stopped asking Claude Code to write our daily updates

We used to end the day by asking Claude Code something like:

“Can you write my daily update based on what I worked on today?”

The problem was that Claude Code only knew about the context it had seen.

It knew about the code it helped us write.

It knew about the files we changed.

But it didn't know about everything else that happened during the day.

The debugging session in another terminal.

The issue we investigated but didn't fix.

The Slack conversation that changed our approach.

The documentation we spent 30 minutes reading.

The random production issue that appeared.

So we'd still have to reconstruct all of that context ourselves before the update was actually useful.

We started using Meridian instead.

Meridian captures our development activity throughout the day and builds a timeline of what actually happened.

Now when we need a daily update, we start from that timeline instead of trying to remember the day from scratch.

Claude Code is great at helping us do the work.

We wanted Meridian to help us remember the work.
