Hi Product Hunt! I’m the maker of MeowBreathe.
It started from a small, everyday problem: when you’re focused or busy, it’s easy to hold your breath or breathe shallowly without noticing. Breathing apps are good once you open them, but you have to remember to open them. So the idea was to flip it around and let a companion come to you.
In MeowBreathe, a painted cat (Mochi by default, and you can rename it) calls you a few times a day with a soft notification, only in the hours you choose. Tap it, and the cat takes three slow breaths with you, about thirty seconds, paced by sound, a glowing light and gentle haptics on iPhone. At bedtime, Wind down is a slow, dark session that ends on its own.
A few things I cared about:
• No account and no ads. Your cat, your calls and your breath log stay on your device.
• After a session, one tap says how it felt, and Journey shows what helps you, worked out on your device from your own taps.
• Quick sessions for the moment (Before a call, Can’t sleep, Screen break, Between tasks), also from Siri, Shortcuts and the Action button.
• Painted rooms and cat breeds, on iPhone and iPad, in seven languages.
Calls, three breaths, Wind down and Journey are free every day. MeowBreathe Plus is optional and adds breeds, rooms, sounds, smarter call times and your own pace.
It’s not a medical app, just a gentle reminder to pause. I’d love your honest feedback: what would make you keep a reminder like this turned on?
