hey everyone, joe here, maker of margin quick backstory: i'm a student and i write constantly. essays, cold emails, a newsletter i keep almost quitting. every time i used ai for help i got back something that read fine but didn't sound like me at all. and grammarly just kept flagging my sentences as "hard to read" which, thanks. what i actually wanted was what a good editor gives you: notes. someone saying "this paragraph is doing nothing, fix it" and then letting me fix it. so i built that. margin reads your draft and leaves notes in the margin. it never rewrites anything, nothing lands unless you accept it. you pick how harsh the feedback is. and it learns your voice the more you write, which is my favorite part. current state: early. the core loop (draft > notes > accept or reject) works well. voice learning is v1, gets better with use. there are definitely rough edges i haven't found yet. feedback i'd love: - does notes-only actually feel different from other ai tools, or just slower? - default feedback level: some testers want brutal, some want gentle. where should it start? - what would make you use this over just pasting into chatgpt? be harsh. harsh notes are kind of the whole point of the product. thanks for checking it out
