MAIOS Project Kernel - Let AI projects carry useful learning into the next task

Install an open-source kernel in your project. It helps your AI assistant work from goals and sources, use or form relevant skills, keep decisions and their reasons, and carry useful learning into later tasks. Works with your existing coding agent.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Graziano, founder of MAIOS.

Today we're introducing MAIOS Project Kernel 5.1.0 (MPK), a free, open-source semantic kernel that you can install in a project you control.

Over the past few years, working on research, code, and projects with AI agents, including ChatGPT and Codex, I've seen their role evolve from remarkable conversational tools into active participants in real work.

Together, we've built a system that we also use to keep developing the system itself and its emerging capabilities.

MAIOS grew from an idea: natural language isn't just a way to make requests. It can express knowledge, principles, and working methods that compatible AI agents can use, combine, and develop through experience.

MPK brings this approach into a project, creating a shared working environment where sources, goals, decisions, knowledge, and competences contribute to how the work develops.

It's through the interaction between people, AI, and what happens during the work that contextual awareness and a grounded understanding of the situation take shape. The consequences of that work can reshape the methods themselves, turning experience into knowledge and capabilities that remain available for the future.

Its generative methods can also form other semantic kernels tailored to different projects and domains, capable of developing their own competences as they work.

The resulting knowledge remains in readable and editable project files, rather than only in a chat history. Each AI agent operates through the tools and permissions available in its own environment.

We use MAIOS to build MAIOS. Research, development, learning, and the evolution of the system are all part of the same work.

I'm curious: what part of your work would you like to turn into a competence your AI can reuse? What tasks would you like to delegate to your AI but still can't get it to perform?
