Why I made LocalPress

I run Asahi Linux on a MacBook M1 Pro (Fedora ARM64). LocalWP is great on macOS, but on Linux — especially ARM64 — it’s either broken, incomplete, or just not available.

That left me spinning up WordPress sites by hand with Docker every time I needed one.

I wanted something simple: create an isolated WordPress site in seconds, pick a PHP version, get a clean .localhost address, and not have to think about containers. So I built LocalPress.

It’s free, no account, no ads. Currently focused on Fedora ARM64 (including Asahi), with Intel/AMD builds coming.
