I wasn't willing to do either and it turns out a budget doesn't need any of it. Ledgerly answers one question: what can I safely spend today? You log what you spend (it takes seconds) and the app turns your plan into a single daily number that recalculates as the period unfolds. No charts you'll never read. One number, honest arithmetic under it. Your financial data never leaves your phone. There's no account, no sign-up, no server of mine holding your data. Everything is stored on-device; backup is optional and goes to your own Google Drive, not to me. A few honest details, since PH appreciates them: It's paid. Your first 20 entries are free so the app can prove itself first; after that it's a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. No ads, no "free" funded by selling your data (you're the customer, not the product). Budgets follow your real pay cycle: weekly, fortnightly, monthly, starting whenever your money actually lands. iOS and Android, in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. You can leave when you want: CSV export and backup work even without a subscription, forever. I'd genuinely love to hear what stops you from sticking with a budget.
